COME, I’LL SHOW YOU

HOW JADAV MADE A JUNGLE

At 17 years old, Jadav Payeng began planting trees on a paltry sandbank in his home country of India. Day after day, he planted. 30 years later, Payeng’s initiative has grown into a 1200-acre forest, which is now home to a growing number of animals like the Bengal tiger, the Indian rhino, and diverse species of monkeys and birds. A story of passion and determination that shows how one person can change their environment.

COME, I’LL SHOW YOU THE COUNTRY OF ORIGIN

INDIA

India (officially the Republic of India) is one of the largest countries in the world. Located in South Asia, it is home to more than a billion people, approximately 16 million of whom live in the capital city, New Delhi. It shares borders with Pakistan, Tibet, Nepal, Bhutan, Myanmar, and Bangladesh, and is bounded by the Indian Ocean in the south. Hindi and English are India’s official languages, but more than 120 other languages and dialects are spoken.
>/br>
India gained its independence in 1947, and it is the world’s largest democracy. About half the population works in agriculture, and there is significant economic inequality.
>/br>
Press freedom in India today is shaped by police violence against the media and the repressive tactics of politicians and criminal groups. The high number of murdered media professionals illustrates just how dangerous journalism is in India. On the 2020 World Press Freedom Index published by Reporters without Borders, India ranked 142nd out of 180 countries.
