FILM FORWARD!

Resilient Africa – which ideas and initiatives inspire and stand for a new Africa? How is social change being shaped there? This is exactly what FILM FOWARD is about. As part of the project, 38 film trainers from Togo, Liberia, Sierra Leone and Ghana were trained online and then taught young people how to make films. Together, they have produced 18 short feature films and documentaries – on topics that are currently important and about people who are making a difference on the ground.

Meanwhile, the films have been screened on Mobile Cinema tours in the four countries, broadcast on national TV stations, and also made available to a wide audience online.

Overall, the project is helping to strengthen the local film and media sector and open up better career opportunities for those involved – especially for those who cannot otherwise afford training. At the same time, the film messages reach millions of people, especially in rural areas where access to media and information is often still difficult.
