COME, I’LL SHOW YOU

SUNNY AND SECURE JOBS

Ecofinder Kenya rents out solar lamps — even on Mageta Island, one of the most remote places in western Kenya. The organisation provides the region with environmentally-friendly lights that anyone can rent for a few cents. Ecofinder Kenya also creates local jobs. As an increasing number of lamp renters start their own small businesses, they too share in the profits of the solar industry.

COME, I’LL SHOW YOU THE COUNTRY OF ORIGIN

KENYA

Kenya (officially the Republic of Kenya) is a country in East Africa that borders South Sudan, Ethiopia, Somalia, Tanzania, Uganda, and the Indian Ocean. Nairobi is the country’s capital and largest city. The official languages are English and Swahili.
>/br>
The Kenyan economy is the strongest in East Africa. More than half of the nearly 50 million Kenyans make their living from agriculture. Income levels are unequal, however, and about half the population lives below the poverty line.
>/br>
Kenya is known for its pluralist media, but self-censorship and attempts to limit news coverage continue to occur in periods of high political tension. Kenya ranked 103rd out of 180 countries on the 2020 World Press Freedom Index, published by Reporters without Borders.
